Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka's birthplace was Minsk which is located in Belarus. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. In her career she has been awarded 12 WTA singles titles. One of them was a Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. In her role as a specialist in doubles, she also has won the US Open of 2019 as well as the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Then she also won the Sunshine Double in 2019, taking the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens. The feat only four pairs of women's doubles to achieve. World singles rankings rose again to its highest position in January 2023. But in doubles, she moved up to the top spot following her win in Melbourne that following year. Her coach was former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the season in 2019 and in part at the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann also served as the coach she had for a short period between August and September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her since the year 2020. Serena Williams is her role model, followed by Maria Sharapova.
